Dr. Casey Corkum obtained an honours degree in Kinesiology through the Health and Human Performance program prior to graduating from Dalhousie University Medical School in 2009. He then completed his Family Medicine Residency through the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Corkum holds a Clinician Teacher faculty appointment through the University of Toronto and is actively involved in the education of resident physicians and medical students. He received the "New Teacher Award" in October of 2013, the "Excellence in Clinical Teaching" award in May 2014 and June 2018, and the Role Modelling Clinical Excellence Award in 2019, all from the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto . He serves on the board of the Georgian Bay Family Health Organization and is a Quality Improvement Coach with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
